Welcome to my Splat Witch Tutorial.  This tutorial uses selections, and is
not difficult to do if you have a working knowledge of PSP.  I use version
7.02, but this can be done using other versions with ease.

You will need Paint Shop Pro - Download a trial of 7.04 HERE

Download my Selection Files HERE

Included in the selection files zip is a pattern for the witch's hair.
I always make a new folder on my desktop and name it for
the particular tutorial I'm working on.  I then drag any psp files
out onto my desktop, then put the new folder into my PSP selections folder.

Remember to SAVE your work often....I save after every step!

You are, of course, at liberty to use whatever colours you wish
when you do this tutorial, I've just listed the ones I used throughout.

If you're ready.....let's begin!

1.  Open a new blank image 400x400, transparent/16million colours

2.  Add a new layer and load the broomhandle.sel file.  Flood fill with black > Selections >
Modify > Contract by 1 and then flood fill with #840000

3.  Add a new layer and load the broom.sel file.  Flood fill with black > Selections >
Modify > Contract by 2 and then flood fill with #FFFF84

4.  Add a new layer and load the broomdarklines.sel.  You will probably have
to zoom in a couple of times on this selection....then flood fill with #840000
On the same layer, load the broomlightlines.sel and fill with #FF8442

5.  Add a new layer and load the broomband.sel.  Fill with #840000

6.  Add a new layer and load the broomhighlight.sel.  Flood fill this selection with #FFFF84
Go to Colours/Adjust > Brightness/Contrast and set your Brightness to minus 70 (contrast 0)

7.  Add a new layer and load the left leg.sel.  Flood fill with black > Selections >
Modify > Contract by 1 and then floodfill with #FF6300   On the same layer, load
rightleg.sel, fill with black > Selections > Modify > Contract by 1 and fill with #FF6300

8.  Add another layer and load the leglines.sel.  Zoom in a couple of times and flood fill with black.

9.  Add a new layer and load the shoes.sel.  Fill with black.  On the same
layer, load the shoehighlights.sel, zoom in a couple of times and fill with #C6C6C6.
Again on the same layer, load the buckle.sel and fill with #FFFF7B

10.  Add a new layer and load the dress.sel file.  Fill with black.

11a.  Open my witcheshair.gif image that was included in the zip file in PSP and minimize it.
Click on your pattern tool on your styles palette and open the hair pattern.

11b.  Add a new layer and load the hair.sel file.  Flood fill with the hair pattern.

12.  Add a new layer and load the hat.sel file.  Fill with black.  On the same layer
load the hatband.sel file.  Zoom in a couple of times and fill with #C6C6C6

13.  Add a new layer and load the lefthand.sel.  Fill with black.  Selections >
Modify > Contract by 1 and fill with #00FF00.  Repeat with the right hand.sel
on the same layer.

14.  Add a new layer, and load the handlines.sel, zoom in a couple of times and fill with black

....and you're DONE!

Pretty easy, eh? :0)

You can now merge your visible layers and tube your witch for later use.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.  If you have questions - please Email me.
