This tutorial deals with selections and is fairly simple.  It does require a lot of layers, 
so please be patient!  A good knowledge of the tools in PSP is required. 

You will need Paint Shop Pro - this tutorial was written in 7.02 
You will also need to download my selection files.  Included in this zip file is a glass pattern 
which should be be placed in your patterns folder in PSP.  The sponge texture I used for the roof is 
number 43 on my computer, but may be something else on yours.  If you don't have it, I've included it 
in the zip file as well.  The sponge.bmp should be placed in your textures folder.

Let's Begin! And remember...save...save...save!

Open an new image 700 wide x 600 high - 16 million colors - transparent background.

Add a new layer and load housemain.sel.  Flood fill with #EAE2D9 or your choice of colors

Add another new layer and load lthousetrim.sel.  Flood fill with #4D1919  Go to selectons/float 
and apply a cutout with the following settings: Opacity 40 Blur 10 Offsets 1  Deselect

Add new layer and repeat with the rthousetrim.sel - apply the same cutout, deselect

Add a new layer and name it bottomtrim1.  Flood fill with #4D1919.  Add another new layer, 
name it bottomtrim2.   Flood fill with #4D1919

Save your work!

Add another new layer and name it gutters.  Load from disk gutter.sel, flood fill with #4D1919. 

Add a new layer and name it step1.  Load the step1 selection and flood fill with #A0A0A0. 
Go to Selections/modify and contract by 2.  Flood fill inside of step with  #D3D3D3.  Add 
a new layer, named step 2 and load step2.sel.  Repeat the fill/contract/fill steps for step1

Add another layer and name it door. Load door.sel and flood fill selection with #4D1919
Go to selections/modify contract by 2 and floodfill inside with #800000  Apply a drop shadow with 
the following settings Vert 1, Horiz 1, Opacity-80, Blur7, Color Black
Apply the same shadow again only change the Horiz/Vert to -1.  Deselect

Save your work!

Add yet another layer and load doorwindow.sel.  Flood fill with #4D1919.  Deselct. 
Now, grab your magic wand and holding your shift key down, select the inside of all 
three of the little windows on the door.  Then either flood fill  them with #FCFCEA  or with the 
glass.jpg that you downloaded at the first of the tutorial.  To use the glass fill, put it in your 
patterns folder in PSP and then click on the arrow on you forground color and choose the pattern 
fill at Scale 100 Angle 0.  Fill the windows.  (I used the glass fill on my door)

On yet another layer, named panels, load the doorpanels.sel file.  Flood fill with #4D1919 
Go to Selections/Modify and contract by 4 and flood fill with #800000.  Deselect

Add a new layer and name it roof.  Load the roof.sel file and floodfill with #535353.
Go to Effects/TextureEffects/Texture and apply the sponge texture at the following settings: 
Size-70 Smoothness-0, Depth-1, Ambience-0, Shininess-3, Color-White, Angle-59, 
Intensity-44, Elevation-31.  Then apply a drop shadow with the following settings Vert-3  Horiz-0 
Opacity-80  Blur 7. 

Add a new layer and name it siding.  load the sidinglines.sel file and floodfill with #C9B8A1 
You might want to zoom in on these before you fill them! 
Add a drop shadow with these settings Horizontal 0,  Vertical 0, Opacity 60  Blur 2  color black. 
Deselect.

Save your work!

Add a new layer and name it windows.  Load the windows.sel file and floodfill with  #4D1919

Add another layer and name it windowpanes  Load the windowpanes.sel file and flood fill 
with #C9B8A1  Deselect.

With your windowpane layer active and with your magic wand, click inside all the 
window panes (holding your shift key down), until they are all selected.  Make your glass pattern 
active and flood fill the panes with the glass.  Alternately you may flood fill with a light yellow to 
give the appearance of lights on inside the house.

Make another layer, named gableroof, load gablerooves.sel and flood fill with #4D1919. 
Go to selections/modify contract by 3 and fill with #800000.   With your gable roof layer active, 
add another layer and name it gables.  Flood fill with #4D1919.  Go to selections/modify and 
contract by 6 and fill inside with #EAE2D9

Add another layer and name it gable windows.  Load the gable windows.sel file and flood fill with #C9B8A1 
Go to Selections/modify contract by 3 and either fill with your window fill or a light yellow.

Add another layer named gablewindowtrim.  Load that sel and flood fill with #4D1919

We're nearly finished!

Add one more layer, naming it curtains.  Load the curtains.sel file and flood fill with a pattern or 
color of your choice. 
I just used a solid color on mine and then accented them with a darker shade.

Now go to layers/merge/merge visible and save as a PSP or tube file so you can decorate it later!
